Healthy Halloween Snacks

Create a really fun, quick, artistic and healthy Halloween snack. Take satsumas or small oranges and wash them to remove some of the grease on the skin. Let children use marker pens to draw on pumpkin faces and leave to dry for an hour.
Then, peel and eat – a spookily healthy treat, that is perfect for children and big kids too.
I created this for my food news page for the Wimbledon, Wandsworth, Putney & Barnes issue of Time & Leisure

  1. What a brilliant idea? I cannot believe we haven’t done it before – Even my girls end up yearning for something healthy to counteract the Halloween sugar.

Thank you Helen. It is fun and I have to admit I really enjoyed making them.
Halloween sugar is good but cute pumpkins are one better.

  2. I’ve seen this idea on Pinterest before and honestly dismissed it but your little faces are just THE CUTEST!

Aww thank you. It was fun playing about with faces – big pumpkin cutting scares me as I always mess it up. Marker pen is the way to go!

  3. So cute Sisley, satsumas do lend themselves so well to being faux pumpkins:-)

Thank you Camilla. They are so cute. Couldn’t bring myself to eat them after!
