This is a fantastic recipe and tastes amazing. It’s adapted from the Grandma’s Best Recipes book.

3-4 Bramley cooking apples
1 punnet of blackberries
55g/2oz light muscovado sugar
1.5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
Half a teaspoon of nutmeg

Crumble Topping

80g self raising flour
95g plain wholemeal flour
115g unsalted butter
55g demerara sugar

– Preheat oven to 190 degrees.
– Peel and core the apples and cut in to chunks and place in an oven proof dish.
– Add the washed blackberries, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to the apples and use a spoon to mix together.
– To make the crumble sift the flours together into a bowl and mix together. Add the butter and rub together using your thumb and finger tips until the mixture look likes breadcrumbs.
– Stir in the demerara and then spread the crumble over the fruit in the bowl.
– Bake in a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until the crumble is golden brown.
– Serve hot and enjoy!

This is how mine looked just as it came out of the oven. I didn’t manage to get any photos of it looked inside as it disappeared faster than any crumble I’ve ever made before.

Happy Baking x
