Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Afternoon Tea Party

To raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home I threw an Afternoon Tea Party. We had delicious cakes and treats to help support such a great charity.

Last weekend I held an afternoon tea to raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. A wonderful charity which helps looks after so many animals each year. They are not government funded and need all the help they can get. As all the cats I have ever had are rescue ones it’s a charity I really love to support. We Brits love our animals and giving a little back to a wonderful charity which has helped home so many animals can only be a good thing. If you would like to donate click this link to make a one off donation or sign up for a monthly donation www.battersea.org.uk/Donations every pound counts and go towards animal care. With everyone who came and donated we were able to make a little money while enjoying cake. Thank you to everyone who came.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Afternoon Tea Party

The centre piece of our afternoon tea was this incredible and I really do mean absolutely incredible Bailey’s and Guinness cake from Cakes By Robin who very very kindly donated it to the afternoon tea party. As you can imagine it was the first thing to be consumed and enjoyed. Everyone remarked about good it was. I found out the icing on the top is buttercream but I still can’t believe it. The whole cake was so light and smooth! Who knew Bailey’s and Guinness would work so well in a cake but it is now my favourite ever flavour. Cakes by Robin makes stunning cakes if you are in South London I’d recommend getting a cake you will love it. Stunning cakes from a stunning and generous company. www.cakesbyrobin.co.uk

handmade biscuits saying woof and meow

I love making biscuits so I made up these lovely vanilla biscuits perfect to dip in tea with woof, meow and BDCH stamped on. These were loved by our guests and I ate a fair few too.

Nutella Palmiers

Something else yummy and quick to make was these chocolate palmiers (recipe will be on the blog soon) They are crunchy pastry filled with chocolate – yum!

reindeer biscuits

I wanted to make some cat and dog biscuits but they didn’t work very well so were consumed early. I didn’t really give myself enough time to practice before everyone turned up. Luckily last Christmas I was taught to make these reindeer biscuits by Mel at Hercule’s Cakehouse and they looked lovely and I’m sure went with the theme of animals. I liked them a lot.
