Dressing the kitchen for spring

March 19, 2015Sew White

The sun has started shining and the kitchen is getting a little brighter in the evenings. To celebrate spring our kitchen is always filled with daffodils and tulips it’s also the time I tend to buy a few new tea towels to brighten up the front of the oven. With all my baking I tend to go through tea towels pretty quickly.

The lovely homeware company Premiere Housewares sent me these fabulous and so spring like  tea towels and new oven glove. The pattern of cow parsley is so sweet, simple and the green tones are bright and compliment my silver, white and dark grey kitchen. I love having a neutral kitchen so it can easily be refreshed with accents of colour. The tea towel is thick cotton and comes in a set of three with variations of the pattern on each. Like all good tea towels they need a wash before they seem to dry fully, ironically, but that is to be expected.

The cotton is so soft and the double oven glove is fairly weighty. I think when taking things out of the oven it will be a good protection from the heat.I love a long oven glove – it’s so easy to hook over the oven door handle and then you always know where it is and it’s ready to grab when you need.

I love the colours and tones of green used. I like this earthy green and it adds a warmth and happiness to my spring kitchen. Plus as there are three tea towels I can keep one out while washing the others so can have a lovely design piece on the oven until summer. These would be rather cute to take on picnics too.

I have to say I love green and this pattern is absolutely gorgeous. I really think pretty textiles can just transform a kitchen.

It’s also a lovely and easy way to make the kitchen seem new again. Any excuse for me 🙂

I love the colours! Very nice! I didn’t think of adding new shades for spring but now I feel the need to spruce it up a little. 🙂 xx

It’s a really love way to spruce up the kitchen but also doesn’t blow the bank and they are useful for washing up.

Lovely colours. With my kids though we’re probably better off choosing a colour scheme which involves a lot of brown 😉
