Matcha 14 day challenge – the result!

January 15, 2015Sew White

For the last two weeks I have been taking 1 portion of matcha tea day. It’s a bright green powdered tea which I will agree isn’t the most appealing in colour and texture but after my short time with it everyday I have noticed a difference. I can’t believe 14 days have passed by so quickly.

For the first week I tried it in different ways to see which I liked best. First was just as regular tea, then the latte from the Tea Pigs website, in porridge (mistake – green porridge is weird and the taste wasn’t great either), in with regular green tea, in milkshakes and in smoothies. I stopped when I got to smoothies as it was a perfect drink which complimented the matcha flavour but helped sweeten it a bit.

The best way I found to get the matcha mixed in perfectly throughout was to add it to a little of the mixture and whizz it up using the aerolatte. Once it was mixed in then I kept using the aerolatte mixer as I topped up the juice, smoothie or tea.

My favourite smoothie was the cherry and banana smoothie from Morrisons to mix it with. Gorgeous!

The challenge was to take the tea for 2 weeks and see if I noticed anything like feeling more energetic, better skin, hair and it being a help to a more healthier routine. After 14 days I certainly feel better in myself and slightly more energetic. My skin looks brighter and clearer. I look more warm and healthy – I’m very pale and tend to look like a ghost a lot of the time especially when I’m not feeling very well. The routine or taking it everyday really helped me prepare for the day and put a healthier spin on the day. I found myself wanting to be more healthy because of it. The bright green of the tea really made me want to eat greens, fresh fruit and vegetables too. I even wanted salad in this cold weather. Very odd.

I really think there is something mighty special about this little tea! As there is still some left I will be carrying on with it until it runs out. Hopefully I will continue to feel even better as I go.

If you are intrigued and want to try matcha you can get it from Tea Pigs here.

Wow, I’m really tempted to give this a go, sounds like there are lots of fantastic benefits and my skin is really in need of a boost during this cold weather. Great post thank you.

You should! If you like regular green tea it’s just a bit more bitter but very strong.

That’s fantastic that you’ve already started to notice changes. I’ve heard great things about this but I’m not keen on tea myself, which is a shame x
