Sugarpova – Wimbledon Pop Up Shop
I love tennis, I love sweets and I love Wimbledon. Three things I love have joined together in the form of Sugarpova a sweet shop created by Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova. Mostly run online the team behind Sugarpova have opened a pop up shop in Wimbledon Village for the two weeks of the tennis. Plus apparently Maria Sharapova has popped in most days to see how it’s going so you might be lucky enough to see her!
After finding out about the pop up shop I knew I had to visit. The shop is divided into two sections. At the front of the shop is the area for the sweets and at the back (and out the front) is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the juice bar.
The shop is very clean and bright and feels like a nice place to be.
In the sweet shop the packs of sweets take over one wall and it is very impressive.
The packaging is lovely and I love the big lips on every packet and how the design on the lips changes per flavour.
The uniformity in design was satisfying to look at.
The packs of sweets cost £4 each which I think is fair they are good size bags and would make good gifts.
They had an offer for 6 bags for £20 and that seemed like a lot of sweets even for me!
The team working at the pop up shop were lovely and very good sales people. There were free samples to try to tempt you and with them constantly talking to you, asking questions and getting very close I got very confuddled and ended up leaving with 3 packs of sweets when I only wanted one. Plus not being left alone to think meant I forgot to use my 20% off voucher!
I bought the most popular sweets from the tennis star’s collection – the mini tennis ball chewy sweets along with some sour sweets.
They are tasty and are fun too and I do think that £4 for a pack is fair for a bit of fun.
It’s nice to be involved with the pop up shop even if only in a small way.
I felt very happy walking back down Wimbledon Hill after an afternoon in Wimbledon Village with my Sugarpova bag.
