Whittard China Rose Black Tea Review

I’m a tea addict. It’s really that simple! I was so excited to try the China Rose Petal Black Tea from Whittard this week.

I love the smell of roses and I was very curious indeed to see how they would work in the tea.

The tea itself is stunning! The black and pink is very pretty indeed.

The tea colour was simple, black and it didn’t have a strong aroma but the flavour more than made up for it. My friend and I described the tea as a sophisticated, delicate and elegant tea. The tea didn’t taste like rose when you drank it but the after taste was a lovely rose sweetness.

I love the packaging the teas come in. You can see the tea and they are resealable so it keeps it fresh. The only thing I didn’t like was there weren’t any instructions on how much to use. I decided on 3 teaspoons of tea in a 4 cup teapot, based on other loose teas I’ve had. It worked pretty well. The first cup was a perfect strength, the second was just at the point of being too strong but luckily drunk before it got that far.

Me and my friend both agreed that is a tea for tea drinkers who like ‘regular’ tea and want to try something as a gateaway into more interesting and floral teas.

Happy tea drinking! x
