The Best of Christmas Drinks

Christmas is getting closer and closer and I’ve started collecting a few of my favourite drinks for the festive season. Here are my must haves for Christmas 2015.

My favourite sparkles this year comes from Marks and Spencer is their new Clementine & Cassis Bucks Fizz (on offer only £3 at the moment). It’s sweet, full of bubbles and has a definite flavour of clementines and blackcurrants. A lovely cocktail sparkle drink that definitely counts for as a cocktail for Christmas. Easily drinkable and brilliant for sharing. www.marksandspencer.com/clementine-cassis-bucks-fizz

For a non alcoholic drink I’ve gone for the bottlegreen spiced berry cordial (£3). It’s a beautiful drink and can be drunk hot or cold. It’s lightly sweet but also has a rich flavour of berries. The spiced berry cordial is loved as an alternative to mulled wine and is so reassuring and comforting on a cold day. www.bottlegreendrinks.com

The red wine I’ve chosen for Christmas is the Toro Loco form Aldi (£4.99). It’s a deliciously smooth and moreish red wine. There are tones of red fruit and cranberries which gives a subtle extra Christmas flavour but don’t impact the overall taste.  It goes incredibly well with red meat and I’d recommend enjoying it with venison. www.aldi.co.uk/toro-loco-tempranillo

For special occasions we get out the posh glasses. These beautiful glasses are from the Jamie Oliver collection and are the vintage style wine glasses (£22). They are so lightly and lovely to hold and the size makes them look beautiful on the dining table.

For opening wine this Christmas I was sent the new Ozeri electronic wine opener (£24.99). It’s an elegant kitchen gadget and works like a treat. It only needs a short charge and can do 40 bottles before it needs charging again (That is what it says in the booklet, I haven’t opened 40 bottles yet!) It’s easy to hold and doesn’t require much strength. The cork screw is sharp but is hidden inside to avoid accidents. I like how thin and compact it is as we can have it in the kitchen and it won’t take up too much worktop space. www.amazon.co.uk/Ozeribottleopener

The last items for Christmas drinks I would recommend are the double walled glasses from Judge. They are fabulous glasses and since reviewing some in the summer I have bought so many sets for friends and family who loved them. The double walled glasses look so lovely and the technology and science behind them makes them brilliant insulated. All the hot drinks stay hot and the cold drinks stay cold. Expect to see these glasses in cocktail posts soon! www.amazon.co.uk/judgedoublewalledglasses

I was sent some of these items to review. All opinions are my own.

I love sweet drinks, so the Clementine & Cassis Bucks Fizz sounds like my kind of drink. I will give it a try! 🙂
