This Nutella Puff Pastry Snowflake is a beautiful and absolutely delicious show-stopper of a Christmas puff pastry dessert. It is so easy to make and as it's a 2 ingredient Nutella puff pastry dessert it makes an affordable way to feed family and friends at a Christmas party.
Take a plate that is about the width of the puff pastry cut out a circle. Place it at one end as you will need the off cut.
Repeat this with the second puff pastry sheet.
Take the off cuts of the two sheets and gently press them together to make enough space for a third puff pastry circle and cut it off.
Place a piece of baking parchment on a baking tray and place the circle of puff pastry with the join down on top it.
Smear the puff pastry sheet with Nutella. Be gentle to not tear the puff pastry.
Lay the second circle on top and add a layer of Nutella to that too.
Top with the final circle of puff pastry.
Use a small bowl to mark a space in the centre so you don't cut too far in.
Cut the circle into quarters and then cut those halfway between too.
Then cut each piece in half making 16 pieces in total.
Take two pieces, one in each hand and twist the one in your left anticlockwise and the one in the right clockwise. Turn them about 3 times so you can a good pattern from the layers showing on the top.
Repeat all the way round. Doing it this way helps give that symetrical and aesthetically pleasing look.
Beat an egg and brush the snowflake.
Bake for 20-26 minutes until golden brown. Some ovens might cook quicker or take longer so keep an eye on it.
