This puff pastry Christmas tree is the cutest and easiest Christmas puff pastry recipe you can make at home. My Nutella puff pastry Christmas tree only needs 3 ingredients and is one of the best party foods you can make in the festive season. It is lovely to sit around the table with friends and devour the Nutella Christmas tree in front of us. Especially with a glass of mulled wine.
Remove the puff pastry from the fridge and Preheat the oven to 200ºC/ 400ºF / Gas mark 6.
Dust the work top with flour and unroll the puff pastry.
Spread the Nutella over the puff pastry.
Fold the puff pastry in half like a book.
Cut the piece into a triangle for the Christmas tree shape.
Along the diagnoal edges cut strips into the centre on each side leaving a gap in the middle.
Take the edges of piece and turn round to make spirals. I rolled them upwards for each side so they all matched.
Using the leftover pieces of puff pastry use a star cutter to cut out a star for the top of the tree.
Gently whisk the egg with a fork and using a pastry brush, brush the egg over the pastry.
Bake for 20 minutes until gold golden brown.
Best enjoyed straight away when still hot but can be enjoyed cool too.

Notes
This recipe is so easy you can size it up or down to suit your occasion. You can use one sheet folded in half like I do in this recipe or use two sheets to make a bigger one.
As you only need a sheet of puff pastry you can use any size you like and adjust the amount of Nutella accordingly.
If you want to try pimping up your puff pastry Christmas tree try adding white chocolate chips or even adding fresh or dried raspberries. For Christmas Nutella and dried cranberries work so well.
