Sweet tooth tennis fans rejoice Sugarpova, Maria Sharapova’s candy shop, has opened up in Wimbledon village for the Championships.
Sugarpova pop up 2018
Just in time for the tennis, the tennis legend Maria Sharapova has opened her candy pop up stop right up the road from the tennis on Church Road. Having popped up around the world for different tournaments, it’s Wimbledon’s turn to welcome back the candy shop for Wimbledon 2018.

The shop is bright and stylish with a wall of candy, chocolate bars and truffles (new for 2018). In the centre there is a large table to sit around while you enjoy a complimentary sweet or two, plus a delicious coffee. The staff I met were so lovely and we had a long chat about Maria, the sweets and of course food in Wimbledon.
I gravitated to the sours. When Sugarpova popped up in Wimbledon before I got to try a few of the packets and the sour ones were so brilliantly tangy I knew I would be buying them again on this visit. The other gummy sweets I also loved and it was great to try them before you buy them.
New this year…
are the truffles. I happily took it upon myself to try them all and I can report back they were all delicious. Choosing one however was very difficult! The lovely staff all had their favourites between the salted caramel, hazelnut, raspberry or rum cherry. The salted caramel was way too moreish to have just one. The hazelnut had a really lovely earthiness taste to it and the raspberry was very fruity. However my heart went to the rum cherry. The sweet cherry and rum combination is rich but easy to enjoy. It’s richness makes a great treat of a truffle and I’ve been very happy to have one and be completely satisfied.
Tennis ball shaped chewing gum. Yes please! Sweet and sporty.
Delicious truffles to try. What flavour do you like the sound of; salted caramel, hazelnut, raspberry or rum cherry?
Sugarpova #povapopup is in Wimbledon Village at 12 Church Road until July 15th and the end of The Championships.
