Enjoy a coffee chocolate martini
A coffee martini is always a hugely popular drink at the bar and on a night out. When they are done right they are done beautifully. I knew I had to incorporate a classic coffee martini with my love of chocolate. So I have created this recipe.
Recipes for Baileys chocolat luxe
My recipe for a coffee chocolate Martini uses the delicious and totally moreish Baileys chocolat luxe spirit. It is so nice to sip on, on it’s own but there are also so many ways it can be used in many different cocktails.
Baileys chocolat luxe is a rich chocolatey drink. It is a lovely spirit to sip on (just like normal Baileys) however it’s also great for making a baileys chocolat luxe cocktail with.
In this recipe I use to make a sweet cocktail based on the classic espresso martini. Scroll down for the full recipe.
Espresso coffee chocolate martini
A traditional coffee martini is made with vodka, freshly brewed espresso coffee and coffee liqueur. Usually topped with a few coffee beans. It’s a classic, it’s strong and it’s utterly delicious. However in my recipe I think I’ve made it better with a measure of Baileys Chocolat Luxe.
Traditionally you make an espresso martini by adding the ingredients to a shaker with ice cubes. You shake for 8 seconds and pour out into a glass to serve. It really is that easy.
Chocolate Easter Cocktail FAQS
Is a chocolate Martini vegan?
The ingredients in an espresso martini should be naturally vegan. The vodka, coffee liqueur and espresso should be vegan but it’s always best to check the label just in case.
How do you make a chocolate martini?
I love chocolate. I’m going to pretend I don’t! With Easter on our doorstep I can’t wait for the chance to make these for all my friends and family. The delicious coffee, vodka and Baileys taste of the flat white martini with a chocolate twist… using Baileys Chocolat Luxe!
It is a beautiful cocktail but it is so thick and creamy it is more like a pudding so I added a little whipped cream and a few Easter eggs to serve as pudding. I have never seen anything I have served be consumed so quickly. *please don’t drink it too fast as it is mostly alcohol!
If you aren’t a fan of cream then leave it out. It tastes just as good without!
Which shaker should I use for the chocolate Easter cocktail?
To make this I used my brand new OXO Good Grips Press and Pour cocktail shaker (gifted). Even though I usually use a regular cocktail shaker I am 100% sold on this neat kitchen gadget. It is so much easier to use than a regular Boston shaker which I always get stuck and then pouring it I make such a mess. Plus is the risk of them opening when shaking – yes I’ve done that!
This cocktail shaker screws up and gives you the ability to give it a great shake and the inbuilt strainer catches any lumps and stops the ice coming out as you beautifully pour into the glass.
I used the gold eggs to decorate to match the bottle but be warned they are heavy and do sink after a few seconds. I think normally I would just pop a few sprinkles to add some extra cheer to the cream.
Do I need to add cream to the chocolate martini?
You don’t need to add cream to this at all. It is just a quirk of mine to turn it into a pudding from a cocktail. If you do add cream you can add a lot as it does taste good but a little amount would work just as well if you like your cream.
