Espresso Coffee & Chocolate Martini

April 8, 2017Sew White

This is the fabulous mix of chocolate and cocktail. My Chocolate Flat White Martini can be a drink or even pudding! This is served with an Easter twist but leave them out to enjoy them for the rest of the year.

Bring on party, event or a rainy Tuesday. No matter what the occasion this is one great drink. The Chocolate Martini brings together the joy of coffee, chocolate and vodka all in all on drink. I serve this as a cocktail but also as a pudding too. For a pudding I add some whipped cream. Why not add some extra calories too. For this version I added Easter eggs for an Easter flare to the finished drink but of course you don’t have to.

Enjoy a coffee martini

A coffee martini is always a hugely popular drink at the bar and on a night out. When they are done right they are done beautifully. I knew I had to incorporate a classic coffee martini with my love of chocolate. So I have created this recipe.

Espresso Coffee & Chocolate Martini

For this delicious cocktail which could easily be dessert you only need 3 ingredients. Plus 2 extra if you want to turn it into a cocktail pudding or you just fancy making it extra special with some cream and sprinkles.

  • 1 part freshly made Espresso
  • 1 part vodka
  • 2 parts Baileys Chocolat Luxe

Ideas for decorations. These are all optional you can serve and enjoy just how it is with this recipe.

  • whipped cream for topping optional
  • Easter eggs for decoration optional
  • coffee beans for decoration options

Recipes for Baileys chocolat luxe

My recipe for a Vodka Chocolate Martini uses the delicious and totally moreish Baileys chocolat luxe spirit. It is so nice to sip on, on it’s own but there are also so many ways it can be used in many different cocktails. In this recipe I use to make a sweet cocktail based on the classic espresso martini. Espresso martini

A traditional coffee martini is made with vodka, freshly brewed espresso coffee and coffee liqueur. Usually topped with a few coffee beans. It’s a classic, it’s strong and it’s utterly delicious. However in my recipe I think I’ve made it better with a measure of Baileys Chocolat Luxe.

Traditionally you make an espresso martini by adding the ingredients to a shaker with ice cubes. You shake for 8 seconds and pour out into a glass to serve. It really is that easy.

Is an Espresso Martini vegan?

The ingredients in an espresso martini should be naturally vegan. The vodka, coffee liqueur and espresso should be vegan but it’s always best to check the label just in case.

How to make a chocolate martini

I love chocolate. I’m going to pretend I don’t! With Easter on our doorstep I can’t wait for the chance to make these for all my friends and family. The delicious coffee, vodka and Baileys taste of the flat white martini with a chocolate twist… using Baileys Chocolat Luxe!

It is a beautiful cocktail but it is so thick and creamy it is more like a pudding so I added a little whipped cream and a few Easter eggs to serve as pudding. I have never seen anything I have served be consumed so quickly. *please don’t drink it too fast as it is mostly alcohol!

If you aren’t a fan of cream then leave it out. It tastes just as good without!

Which shaker should I use for the chocolate martini?

To make this I used my brand new OXO Good Grips Press and Pour cocktail shaker. Even though I usually use a regular cocktail shaker I am 100% sold on this neat kitchen gadget. It is so much easier to use than a regular Boston shaker which I always get stuck and then pouring it I make such a mess. Oh well! Plus is the risk of them opening when shaking – yes I’ve done that! This cocktail shaker screws up and gives you the ability to give it a great shake and the inbuilt strainer catches any lumps and stops the ice coming out as you beautifully pour into the glass.

I used the gold eggs to decorate to match the bottle but be warned they are heavy and do sink after a few seconds. I think normally I would just pop a few sprinkles to add some extra cheer to the cream.

Do I need to add cream to the chocolate martini?

You don’t need to add cream to this at all. It is just a quirk of mine to turn it into a pudding from a cocktail. If you do add cream you can add a lot as it does taste good but a little amount would work just as well if you like your cream.
