I love this felt envelope. It is one of the best things I have ever made. It’s reusable and it’s so simple to make. It will be lovely to have for years to come.
I’m getting better with my back stitch abilities. I used to spend ages on it and it looked terrible but using the water erasable pen makes an easy line to follow you can concentrate on the stitches. Then dab with a damp cloth and ta-da the lines have disappeared and it looks like you’ve been a genius at hand stitching.
How to make a felt envelope
The felt should be two and a half to three times the height of the card. Leave a finger width each side to be the card to be the seam width. Cut off the remaining felt. Fold the pieces over the card. Cut the final piece into a point.
2. Cut out a heart to act as the stamp and sew it on to the middle third of the felt below where the sides go to the point. Use a water erasable pen and write your message on the felt. Then use thread to sew it on. Use a damp cloth to remove the pen lines and let it dry.
3. Fold and pin the two bottom pieces and stitch around the edges. Leave the fold in the middle open to place your card in.
4. Add a little magnet or stitch to keep the flap down on the back of the felt envelope. Place it in the letter or love token in the envelope before you stitch it shut.
5. Give the beautiful envelope to your loved one. Perfect for Valentine’s Day

Amazon Affiliate Links for the items you will need. If you have a local craft shop you should be able to get all these items singularly. I do love a multi pack of felt though. It makes me want to get very creative.
Adding felt to paper crafts is starting to be fun for me. Cutting up extra hearts and adding them to the paper card looked so cute and tied in the letter and envelope together.
