Black Gold and Red Christmas Table

I loved creating this Black Gold and Red Christmas Table. Using the dark table cloth really makes the gold, white and reds pop and stand out.

This table was so much fun to create. I love the strong colour palette. The mix of gold, black, red and white is classy and sophisticated which also being really quick to set up. It didn’t use too many new pieces but made good use of things I already had from other decorations.

I started with my gorgeous black/deep blue linen table cloth and gold place mats from Elys Wimbledon. The gold is absolutely gorgeous and sparkly too. Plus wipe clean which makes clearing up much more of a joy.

For this table I didn’t use the fancy plates. I used our every day ones from Marks and Spencers (design from years ago). I really like square plates now as they offer that great option as stacking them like this to make a pattern. It creates a great blank canvas to build up decorations with. From my photos you can see my two different set ups. It is easy to add a fun napkin to add some colour and fun to the table.

If you have a little more time then it’s definitely worth using beautiful cutlery on the plate and using a bow or garland to loosely tie them in. I used a green holly and berry garland from Tiger Stores to wrap round the plates. It added a lovely bit of green to the table and continued the red accents too.

Adding a little bit of colour to the glasses with fake berries on the Christmas table.

To add more red highlights to the table I used these gorgeous red berry candles holders I bought as a little treat from Harrods for myself. I think they are Gisella Graham. As glasses can be a bit boring on their own I used fake berries from my craft box and tied them around the stem. I really love how these turned out.

These might have been an odd choice for candles but I wanted to mix together the warm gold colour and berries colours which I think these candle holders did. The warming orange definitely united the colours and when it got dark it made the gold sparkle a little more. They are from HEMA stores. To complement them I also decided to go with a few pinecones. I think they add a really natural feel to the table and tie in a lot of the colours too. I used some which had little paint splats to look like snow and others au natural. It is a simple table but one I am happy with.

A little fun option for quick table dressing. Use really cute napkins. I love these napkins. They are so jolly and happy too. It also keeps the pattern of the plates going.
