Begin 2020 with incredible meal at “Shampan at Spinning Wheel” in Westerham Kent with two times British barbecue champion and chef Abdul Yaseen.
This New Years Eve attend the black and white gala for an incredible five course meal created with a huge amount of care and thought. The style of food for the evening is modern Indian. Mixing traditional spices and flavours with modern ideas to produce dishes that will truly excite your taste buds.
Chef Abdul Yaseen is a multi-award-winning chef. A connoisseur of modern Indian food which he has established as his signature style. Arriving in the UK after moving from India 18 years ago Abdul has worked and learned more about food and uses his expertise in his incredible dishes. He was part of the founding team of one of the most iconic and most recognisable London restaurants, The Cinnamon Club.

Chef Abdul Yaseen’s menu for New Years Eve
See the full menu above but here are my top choices of what to have on the night.
The choice available is incredible and is definitely the best way to start a new year for a foodie. For nibbles to enjoy with your champagne on arrival I would have to pick the tikka pie tartlets. Keralan lobster broth served with coconut dust and crab salad for the first course. Bhutti roast methi chicken and baby mutton pencil fillet served with smoked labneh dip, mung bean salad and aubergine chokha for the second course. Already this food sounds absolutely incredible and there are still three more courses to go.
The rest course is a beautiful palette cleansing lime and mint sorbet. The main course has a stunning range of dishes to choose from. However the Hyderabdai spiced duck and tandoori lamb cutlet has caught my eye. The main dishes are served with black lentils, truffle naan and pilau rice. Which all sound wonderful as an additional flavours for the meal.
The final foodie spectacle from chef Abdul Yaseen is the choice of puddings. This is where I find it hard to choose. The trio of Jamun, Alai and Yoghurt with toasted pistachios and chocolate crumble is the first choice. Or you can choose the dark chocolate and stem ginger cake with vanilla and cinnamon sabayon. This is a hard choice for me as a sweet tooth fan. I think I would have to ask my partner to order one and me the other so I could try both.
