Pears on Toast – Cream Cheese and Blackberries. This is a pearing – pardon the pun made in heaven. It’s a simple one to make but pacts a flavour punch.
The second post in my little series on interesting way to have pears on toast is a super simple one and I think the easiest for a snack. Also great for kids who like cream cheese. Add a good smear of cream cheese on to the toast before adding the slices of pear and studding with blackberries.
I love September for eating the most ripe pears so I wanted to celebrate them by making up a few interesting ways to have them on toast. To give other pear fans a delicious new way to eat pears.
This is a simple combination but the flavours are some of the best in the world. Cream cheese spread on hot toast, topped with juicy pear and topped with blackberries. It could be seen as rather plain compared to the other recipes of pears on toast I’ve come up with but I think of it more as light and refreshing. I would say this is more of a breakfast/ brunch pears on toast recipe.
The two fruits work so well together on toast and the addition of cream cheese really makes this far to easy to eat. It is also really quick to whip up and we all have to love a quick foodie feast.
What would you add to pears on toast to make it the most delicious snack? I’m so interested to know other ways I can enjoy pears on toast!
Pears on Toast – Cream Cheese and Blackberries
- Sourdough bread
- Cream cheese
- 1 Ripe pear
- Toast the sourdough. I use the grill as I like the chunky toast and it doesn’t always fit in the toaster. Keep an eye on it though as grilling can cook it a bit quick.
- Spread the cream cheese over the toast.
- Peel and slice a pear and add to the cream cheese.
- Stup with blackberries and enjoy.
