This is my favourite party food and brilliant to cook with kids who can decorate with their favourite sweets and sprinkles. Easy chocolate traybake and easy no bake traybake recipe. I have loved the new Marvellous Creations range by Cadbury and while I was making the Maltesers fridge tray bake the other day I had an idea. Why not using the marvellous creation bar as the milk chocolate as it would bring all the extra sweets with it. This what I created and it was awesome!
Easy to make Malteser Traybake
This easy to make Maltesers Traybake recipe is is only a few ingredients which satisfy you and your friends every time you make it. It’s a good melt most of the ingredients together, mix everything else in and pop in a fridge to set. It really is that easy. No matter what the event, I now tend to cut this up into small bite size pieces. If you leave them too big and they set hard it can be slightly harder to eat. Also more importantly they are rather sweet so a small bite size piece works really well too.

Key tips have to include removing the no bake Malteser cake from the fridge after 40 minutes to slice up. This will make it so much easier to slice up. It will be easy to slice up as the chocolate will be setting so hold it’s cut up shape and not full apart. Pop it back in the fridge and when it’s completely set go over the cuts and it will slice super easily.
How to make the no bake Malteser Traybake

Place the butter, golden syrup and chocolate in a saucepan and melt together on a gentle heat, keep stirring. Take it off the heat when it’s all melted together.
For this version of the chocolate fridge bake I used the Cadbury Marvelous creations chocolate as it some delicious jelly beans, popping candy and other tasty things too. You don’t need use this bar but normal chocolate bars will work so well too.
Crush the digestives to crumbs (I use a rolling pin and hit the biscuits while they are in a bag to make the crumbs).
Mixed together with the digestive biscuits in to the melted chocolate mixture.
Mix in any other sweets you fancy at this point, along with the Maltesers. Be quick as the chocolate on the Maltesers will melt fast.
The chocolate fridge bake with Maltesers pushed in to the pan ready for the white chocolate. I love seeing the flecks of colour from the extra candy and sweets inside.
Melt the white chocolate and pour it over the top. (If you move it around too much when trying to spread it you can pick up a few crumbs of digestives which makes the little lumps you see here.) Pop it in the fridge.
After 40mins in the fridge take it out and slice it up. I would recommend making more bite size pieces. Definitely slice it up before it completely sets. Then pop back in the fridge. At this point decorate with all your favourite sprinkles.
I This is what the bottom side looked like when it had set – I love the colours so I had to share. For this version I had added some mini Smarties I had left over which gave the finished easy Maltesers traybake beautiful flecks of colour.
Homemade malteser tray bake
Making the malteser traybake at home is so easy. You need a saucepan, large spoon, tray for it to set in, and either a blender to whizz up the biscuits or a rolling pin to bash them with.
This is the perfect homemade little treat for events, parties or when you really have a sweet tooth craving. The homemade super easy maltesers tray bake is all done in one large saucepan. It then gets popped into the baking tray and left in the fridge to set. So easy.
Chocolate Maltesers cake
This chocolate Maltesers cake has been used so many times with my friends that I now get weird looks if I don’t make it. There has never been left overs and often I get asked to make more if there will be a long event or party. I also have started making this as presents. Who wouldn’t want this as a birthday present! Turning up with delicious treats is a great way to make people smile.

This type of fridge traybake is like a Malteser rocky road. It builds up the best chocolate and biscuits and holds/ suspends the sweets and Maltesers. I love it I can eat this so much but it’s sweet enough that you have to take your time. Probably a good point of making it.

The finished gorgeous chocolate fridge traybake. Family favourite now for sure! These ones were super cute bite size pieces and all disappeared very fast at a birthday party. Once portion was enough to feed a lot of people.

Malteser caramel tray bake
If you want to take this malteser tray bake to the next level try adding caramel! I have added caramel to this by adding chopped up or whole Rolos. It seriously works! I’ve also added squares of Galaxy caramel chocolate so when it’s cut up the caramel pops out. Wow!

- 100 g unsalted butter
- 400 g milk chocolate (I used a marvellous creations bar)
- 3 tablespoons golden syrup
- 300 g digestives biscuits
- 120 g Maltesers
- jelly beans or other sweets like that (optional)
- 300 g white chocolate
- Place the butter, golden syrup and chocolate in a saucepan and melt together on a gentle heat, keep stirring. Take it off the heat when it’s all melted together.
- Crush the digestives to crumbs and add to the melted chocolate mixture. (I use a rolling pin and hit the biscuits while they are in a bag to make the crumbs.)
- Once throughly mixed add the Maltesers and popping candy.
- Line a small baking tray with greaseproof paper.
- Put the mixture into the pan and press in firmly to compact the mix.
- Melt the white chocolate in a bowl over hot water.When it has melted pour the chocolate over the Maltesers mix. Sprinkle any sprinkles over for decorations.
- Put in the fridge for until set.
- After 45 minutes cut into slices and return to the fridge. It's easier to cut when it's still setting.
