If you what to be even more adventurous you could always add honey or maple syrup to your strawberry crumble to give it that sweet finishing touch.

FAQS

Can you put fresh strawberries in a crumble?

Of course, in fact, fresh strawberries will only make the crumble even better. Turning your tasty treat into a delectable dessert.

How do you make crumble more crumbly?

To give your canyon of crumble that little extra crumbliness. You could always add oats to the strawberry crumble mix, which will give it that extra bit of density that will be an extra special treat.

Is it better to crumble with cold or melted butter?

Neither. You want a slightly cold slightly soft butter. Melted butter will be too oily to rub into the flour, and cold butter will be too dense to combine. Try to go for a slightly soft butter that will rub through your fingers with only a little tension. Roughly 15 minutes before usage should service.

Is it OK to cut up strawberries ahead of time?

When making your strawberry crumble. You can have everything ready ahead of time and just assemble it when you need to. Make sure to not leave your strawberry for too long however, just like most fruit the strawberry may start to go dry and this will lose the moist flavour you want in your crumble.

I added a bit more flour to create the crumble as it wasn’t crumb-like at first. A great way to use up left over strawberries and oats, and I’ve never seen a crumble with strawberries. Thanks!
