Strawberry Hearts are the cutest addition to cakes and bakes. They are simple to make and great fun for children to make with cookie cutters.
Making strawberry hearts are a super fast and lovely way to make decorations for your cakes to pancakes. They are so simple and have a great look to the dish plus they make people smile. All you need is strawberries, a knife and a heart shaped small cookie cutter.
It really is that simple to make. I love making these as they always bring such joy to anyone has them. I’ve started making them to go on porridge and yoghurt too. I love how they make everyone smile.

Slice the strawberry in half and stamp out the hearts with the cookie cutter. It’s that simple. Don’t throw away the left overs! With the left over pieces I pop them in a blender and make a smoothie. Or I make a compote which I can keep in the fridge for later to go with a cheesecake or drizzle over pancakes. Even nibble them as you go is better than throwing them away.

Here are some examples of how I have used them in my other cakes and brunches. They also taste great on my Valentine’s Day French Toast.
I love Doughnut waffles they are so much to make and even more fun to eat. Adding the strawberries adds a fresh and fun topping to them. Something to counteract the sweet and give a fruity topping.
Pimm’s cake wouldn’t be a proper cake without being served with strawberries and cucumber on top. The heart strawberries and cucumber hearts looked beautiful. It was a very popular cake.
