I love September for pears so I wanted to celebrate them by making up a few interesting ways to have them on toast. To give you a delicious new way to eat pears.
Pears on Toast with Blue Cheese, Figs and Honey
This is a truly opulent way to enjoy pears on toast. Blue cheese and figs are so wonderful together as part of a snacking charcuterie board or summer platter. Once from this iconic flavour pairing putting it on toast with juicy peaches works to make it even more fun. The peaches are juicy and sweet and with the richness of the blue cheese they are a wonder.
This is a simple combination but the flavours are some of the best in the world. Soft blue cheese spread on hot toast, topped with juicy pear and topped with fresh figs. If that wasn’t enough a drizzle of honey tops this off as the most opulent way to have pears on toast.

What goes with pears?
There are so many things which go with pears. From savoury blue cheese, mozzarella and bacon to sweet blackberries and chocolate. In the recipes linked here you will find 4 ways of making pears on toast extra special.
Cream Cheese and Blackberries
I adore blackberries and with pears. They are a wonderful Autumn season produce and together just beautiful. On hot toast with melting cream cheese they are so easy to enjoy. In fact it’s easy to enjoy multiple slices of this beauty. This is great if you are a fan of juicy fruits.
This is a simple combination but the flavours are some of the best in the world. Cream cheese spread on hot toast, topped with juicy pear and topped with blackberries. It could be seen as rather plain compared to the other recipes of pears on toast I’ve come up with but I think of it more as light and refreshing. I would say this is more of a breakfast/ brunch pears on toast recipe.

Pears on Toast with Bacon and Balsamic Vinegar
It might sound weird but bacon and balsamic vinegar work so incredibly well together. The salty bacon with the intense flavour of the vinegar is beautiful. Add this to toast with fresh juicy peaches and the trinity of flavours is next level.
Open bacon sandwich
So this is kind of an epic open style bacon sandwich. The best sourdough base covered with bacon and pears. The saltiness of the bacon really works with the juicy sweetness of the pear. Plus a dash of balsamic vinegar really takes it too new heights with it’s delicious tartness. If you are feeling really opulent then add a poached egg as well.

Mozzarella and Chilli
On toast, mozzarella and chilli is a beautiful combination with the soft juicy peaches. The sourdough toast acts as that beautiful barrier between the flavours of the fresh ingredients on top and the crunch that makes a unity of this dish.
Add a lovely twist to toast with my Pears on Toast with Mozzarella and Chilli. It makes it a little more Mediterranean and even more delicious.
Sweet and sour toast
This is one of my favourites ways to have pear on toast. It’s a good spicy dish with the fresh chilli. I love olive and balsamic vinegar to dip toasted sourdough into and this just takes to the next level. The creamy mozzarella you wouldn’t think would go with the softness of the pears but they actually work really well together. The juicy pears and spicy chilli really go well together and are rather addictive to me.
